Handover Test Systems

Handover test systems, also known as mesh attenuation systems, are used to assess the performance of three or more interconnected wireless devices under real-world operating conditions within the controlled space of a lab environment.

Device manufacturers and network engineers use handover test systems and their various signal attenuation mechanisms to simulate the complex effects of variables like distance and interference. This helps to improve the robustness of their network and optimize the performance of their RF equipment.

The AdauraTech advantage

Adaura Technologies’ cost-effective handover test systems give engineers the full flexibility and features they need to carry out dynamic, comprehensive wireless mesh testing—including for modern Wi-Fi (6 and 6E), MIMO, LTE, 5G and 6G use cases. Designed for maximum configurability and customization on the test bench, Adaura systems cover a wide frequency range of 500 MHz to 7,500 MHz and offer up to 512 connections with 120dB of attenuation in step sizes of just 0.05dB. Using the highest quality Wilkenson power combiners and divders, our HTS systems boast the lowest insertion loss in the industry.

Like the rest of our product portfolio, our handover test systems are valued not only for their affordability but their simplicity and scope of control. AdauraTech attenuators can be easily programed for fixed attenuation, swept attenuation ramps as well fading profiles directly from the built-in graphical user interface (GUI). They can be controlled via USB and Ethernet, and new Power over Ethernet (PoE) capabilities allow our units to be powered over the same data connection to reduce cable clutter.

This extensibility and ease of use makes AdauraTech’s systems ideal for deployment in semiconductor test and qualification labs as well as specialized automated test equipment (ATE).

Handover Test System Ordering Process

Adaura Tech makes ordering a Handover Test System easier than ever with a seamless process from order confirmation to production.

Step 1 – Quotation (The Feasibility and Proposal Stage)

This initial stage focuses on understanding the customer’s high-level needs and determining if the project is viable and profitable.

  • Customer Inquiry & Initial Scope: The customer provides a preliminary request for a handover test sytem, which is assessed for technical feasibility.
  • Concept Development: A rough design idea or concept is quickly developed to estimate system cost.
  • Proposal Generation: A formal quotation is created detailing the proposed solution, cost, timeline, and terms.
  • Outcome: A signed Purchase Order (PO) or agreement from the customer.
step2a
Step 2 – Product Requirements (The Detailed Definition Stage)

Once the quote is accepted, the focus shifts to documenting the precise specifications required for engineering and production.

  • Specification Document Creation: At this point, we formalize the requirements into a Product Requirements Document (PRD) or a detailed specification sheet for approval by the customer. This PRD includes initial designs & models such as technical drawings, CAD models, and even design graphics.
  • Outcome: A finalized and internally approved specification document.

Step 3 – Review and Approval

Customer Sign-off on PRD: The customer formally reviews and approves the detailed design and specifications.

step2b
Step 4 – Production and Testing

This is where the product is created, assembled, and rigorously verified against the approved specifications.

  • Manufacturing/Assembly: The creation of the system, following the approved technical drawings and plans.
  • Quality Control (QC) Checks: Inspections performed throughout the production process to ensure adherence to production standards.
  • Functional Testing: Testing the completed product to ensure it meets all specified operational specifications.
  • Documentation Finalization: Preparation of final quality test reports.
Step 5 – Delivery

The final stage involves getting the product to the customer and officially closing the project.
